Like many businesses we are keen to invest in our equipment and systems in order to reduce our impact on the environment. Three years’ ago, whilst researching innovation in our sector, we came across the OZONE laundry system: a non-polluting solution that could, not only drastically reduce our water, energy and chemical use, but also offer astonishing sanitising power.
Ozone technology is used by NASA to clean all space equipment and subsequently has been proven to kill the SARS Coronavirus*. Given COVID-19, commonly called Coronavirus, has proven similarities and links to SARS and flu, could ozone technology help prevent the spread of COVID-19?
Ozone is a naturally occurring gas created from oxygen molecules. It is already regarded as one of the most powerful sanitisers in the world, much more powerful in fact than chlorine.
During the washing process Ozone is dissolved into water, killing organisms and bacteria before it naturally returns to oxygen once the process is complete. There are no pollutants and the results are cleaner, brighter and softer fabrics.
We will all need to be supportive and vigilant over the coming months, possibly even longer. We must protect ourselves, our families, friends and co-workers from the spread of COVID-19 until a proven vaccine has been developed.
